History

At its inception, there were only 8 cerebral palsy (CP) children enrolled at CereCare. As China paid more attention to rehabilitation for the disabled and word of CereCare’s successful work spread, CereCare has expanded to provide for as many as 30 children. However, because of limited facilities and resources, many more CP children await admission. Despite this, CereCare continues to do its best to help as many people as possible. In addition to providing rehabilitation consultation to more than 1,000 CP children and parents, CereCare has successfully graduated more than 250 CP children. Moreover, 32 of those children have entered into regular schools for a formal education.  Considering most of the children coming to CereCare for help are with multiple disabilities or/and did not have obvious improvement after years of medical treatment in hospitals, CereCare brings hope to them and their families.

With the joint efforts of Ms. Lieu, her sister, and all the CereCare staff, CereCare has made significant progress in CP rehabilitation as well as in training CP rehabilitation personnel (including caregivers, communities, volunteers, etc). More than a hundred people from over ten volunteer groups frequent CereCare every week.
