CereCare Wellness Center for Children

In China, there are few provisions for handicapped children in schools and public areas. Therefore, CP children’s ability to navigate, function independently and get an education is minimal. It was the vision of sisters Lyu Shun Ling and Iris Lieu, who brought the CereCare Wellness Center for Children to life, that the CP children at CereCare be able to lead a normal life and receive an education after rehabilitation. 

The CereCare Wellness Center was established in 2003 and is a fully registered NPO (please refer to ‘Accreditation’ at www.cerecare.org.cn for copy of business license). It is a residential treatment center that can currently accommodate up to 30 children with cerebral palsy. The Center provides a warm, loving environment combined with innovative therapies so that children afflicted by cerebral palsy can reach their potential for physical independence, intellectual achievement, and emotional security. 

CereCare’s treatments are a unique combination of exercise and acupressure developed by its founder, Lyu Shun Ling, and Conduction Education.  Many CP children who receive these treatments early enough can develop the control of movement, cognitive reception and language skills to enable them to attend normal schools. This is the great hope of those who support CereCare’s pioneering work in the treatment of cerebral palsy. 

Treatment at CereCare builds the self-esteem, confidence and hope of children affected by CP. CereCare believes that CP kids can learn and attain achievable results physically, mentally and emotionally, using treatment methods that work for them individually. 

The program is intensive, with Conduction Education and physical therapy sessions supplemented by acupressure sessions tailored to the needs of each child. Qualified Conductors, physiotherapists and acupressurists provide patient, dedicated, skilled care. Residential counselors monitor the children 24 hours a day.
