Lyu’s Acupressure – A Unique Chinese CP Rehabilitative Method

Ms. Lyu’s unique acupressure method is an adaptation of traditional Chinese medical acupressure, a theory and method exclusively for CP therapy.

Clinical practice found that the best recovery time for CP is between the ages of 2 and 3. However, acupressure can improve the quality of life for CP people of any age. Lyu’s Acupressure regulates the blood and internal organs to improve physiological functions and relax tight muscles. Besides regulating muscles and joints, conditioning internal organs is also particularly important in treating CP. Many CP children have brain damage that sends their bodies’ endocrine system into a state of chaos, thus impairing nutrient absorption, internal secretion, and excretory functions. Accordingly, conditioning internal organs stabilizes CP people’s internal environment to support normal nutrient absorption, digestion, and excretion, providing a foundation for effective therapy. Lyu’s Acupressure then stimulates the corresponding acupoints to further help relax muscle spasms.

When CP children first enroll into CereCare, many of them have health complications such as bad complexion, trouble with urination and defecation, poor appetite, drooling problems, and rigid limbs. After a semester of treatments, the children’s digestive functions usually improve. As a result, about 95% of them eat properly and regain healthy complexion, 85% report reduced limb rigidity, and 60% show reduced drooling problems.

Lyu’s Acupressure combines rehab massage, acupuncture, and qi gong. It provides a massage’s soothing feeling, acupuncture’s stimulation, and takes into account spiritual, psychological, and physical changes. The advanced physiotherapy method stimulates the nervous and endocrine systems feedback loops. CP patients learn step-by-step to identify with their rehabilitation so that they are motivated to persist on the road toward recovery.
